How the architecture handles variety

Adventure Shield

Outdoor adventure coverage. Own DAIS line ID, own question set (cached per product). Shares CGL / Inland Marine / Biz Auto questions with other programs — deduplicated at intake.

Athletic facility coverage. Often paired with Blanket Accident. Different intake questions than Adventure Shield but same platform, same board, same flow.

Ski resorts and schools. Seasonal underwriting considerations. Same 6-column Kanban, same DAIS quote flow.

Often sold with Sport Complexes or Skiing. Product_line chips let PUs see which deals include it without opening the card.

Coming soon per meeting. Once the DAIS line ID is registered, appears as a product option on new submissions without code changes.

What Works Today

  • Product lines are data, not code Adding a new program = one admin form entry + DAIS line ID. No deploys.
  • Per-product question caching Each program's DAIS questions cached independently. Daily refresh + manual trigger.
  • Multi-product submissions One submission can span multiple programs (e.g., Sport Complex + Blanket Accident). Quotes returned per line.
  • Question deduplication Shared questions across products asked once. Unique questions per product shown in their own section.
  • Same Kanban for all programs One board, filterable by product. PUs don't switch contexts between programs.
  • Quote comparison spans products Side-by-side quotes across different product lines on the same submission.

What's Still Open

  • Per-program Kanban variations Today all programs use the same 6 columns. Some programs may need extra stages (e.g., Skiing seasonal review). Defer to post-launch.
  • Per-program routing rules "Is this a Jonathan deal or a Cody deal?" — agent-to-PU mapping isn't formalized. Today admin assigns manually. Auto-assign is future scope.
  • Marine integration Explicitly out of MVP scope. Biggest book of business. Architecture supports it but Marine has its own complexities (different carriers, renewals, etc.) needing separate scoping.
  • Commission structures per program Each program has different commission percentages and agent splits. Today handled in Quote Wizard; bridge assumes existing logic works. May need per-program overrides later.
  • Program-specific required UW questions DAIS handles this via product-specific question sets. But supplemental PU questions (asked at Step 3 of quote request) may need program-specific presets. Currently manual.
  • Document templates per program Bind documents, COIs, quote letters may vary by program. Quote Wizard owns these today; audit before launch.
